BRICS-Russia Expert Council Discusses Practical Approaches to Integrating IT and Artificial Intelligence in Education
On June 8, the BRICS Expert Council-Russia, under the auspices of the Civil BRICS Council, held a round table entitled "IT and AI in Education: Practical Solutions for BRICS Countries."
The event was organized as part of the preparations for the BRICS Civil Forum 2026, which will be held in India, and served as a platform for discussing how modern digital technologies can contribute to improving the quality and accessibility of education across BRICS countries.
Participants examined the experience of using artificial intelligence in the educational process, the prospects for personalized learning, the development of inclusive educational practices, and measures to overcome digital inequality. Particular attention was paid to preserving the role of teachers in the context of digital transformation, supporting multilingual educational environments, and fostering safe online behavior among children and adolescents.
During the discussion, participants emphasized the need to develop common approaches to the application of artificial intelligence technologies in education that would enable countries to maximize their benefits while maintaining educational quality, academic integrity, and the humanistic principles of learning.
As a result of the round table, experts prepared a set of proposals aimed at expanding cooperation among BRICS countries in the field of digital education, sharing successful practices in the implementation of IT solutions, advancing digital literacy programs for teachers, students, and parents, and strengthening the security of the digital educational environment.
The recommendations developed during the event will be submitted as a contribution from Russian civil society to the preparations for the BRICS Civil Forum 2026.
The round table confirmed the growing demand for expert dialogue on the digital transformation of education and demonstrated the commitment of BRICS countries to jointly identify solutions capable of ensuring the sustainable development of educational systems in an era of rapid technological change.
