Presentation of Report on Transformation of General Education in BRICS Countries to be Held in Moscow
On November 25, 2025, an analytical report titled "Transformation of General Education in BRICS Countries" will be presented at HSE University. This report was prepared by the BRICS Expert Council-Russia in collaboration with the HSE Institute of Education. The presentation is part of the Connecting Generations expert discussion forum.
The new report analyses how the core BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—are responding in distinct ways to shared challenges in school education. The study focuses on equalising educational opportunities, integrating digital technologies, supporting teachers, advancing inclusion, preserving linguistic diversity, fostering cross-cultural dialogue, and strengthening the role of schools in fostering social cohesion. Separate sections address the integration of migrants, the sustainability of educational infrastructure, and the strategic priorities developed by member states without directly copying external models.
During the presentation, experts will explore the different approaches the BRICS nations are taking in response to global megatrends, the conditions that promote student well-being and high achievement, and how international research helps build an evidence base for improving education systems in nations with varying income levels.
The session will be moderated by Valeriia Gorbacheva, Deputy Head of the BRICS Expert Council-Russia and Head of the Multilateral Strategic Projects Office at HSE University.
Please contact Hammam Ahmed, Specialist at Multilateral Strategic Projects Office of Centre for Multilateral Projects and Network Programmes (ahammam@hse.ru) to register for the event.
