On May 22-24, the BRICS Academic Forum is being held in Moscow under the slogan "BRICS: New pieces on the World Chessboard." This is the annual academic track conference of the BRICS Council of Expert Centers, in which national coordinators involve leading experts from the world's majority countries. The organizer is the BRICS Expert Council.
At the forum, the number of participants, which has increased to ten in the year of the Russian presidency (from January 1, 2024), will discuss approaches to solving topical issues and develop ways to develop cooperation in the fields of global governance, trade and economic cooperation, international, food and energy security, science and education, technology and innovation, and improving financial systems.
The recommendations of the BRICS Academic Forum have been transmitted through sherpa and su-sherpa channels to the leaders of the BRICS countries for the summit in Kazan, which will be held on October 22-24.
