BRICS Expert Council-Russia took part in the BRICS Network University International Conference

The Annual BRICS Network University Conference showcased the work of the International Thematic Group (ITG) on Economics, jointly coordinated by HSE University and RUDN University. Valeriia Gorbacheva, Deputy Head of BRICS Expert Council-Russia and Head of Multilateral Strategic Projects Office at HSE University, presented the group's key initiatives and outlined upcoming collaborative projects set for implementation by member institutions by the end of this year within the BRICS Network University (NU) framework.

Ms Gorbacheva emphasised that the wealth of collaborative experience woven throughout the university's history has created a strong foundation for advancing strategic initiatives in both scientific and educational fields. Among the most notable achievements are the endorsement of the BRICS NU certificate, the formulation of academic mobility concepts, and the launch of the BRICS NU scientific journal. Additionally, preparations are underway for the pilot International BRICS Olympiad and the School of Environmental and Climate Monitoring.

The BRICS Network University is a network of higher education institutions from BRICS member nations, united in their commitment to educational cooperation. The Annual International Conference serves as a vital platform for presenting NU results and aligning efforts across priority fields, including computer science and information security, BRICS studies, energy, ecology and climate change, water resources and pollution management, economics, sustainable agriculture and food security, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and health sciences.

Following the conference, new member universities from Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, the UAE, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia will join the international thematic groups.

HSE University continues to play a pivotal role in coordinating the activities of the ITG on Economics within the BRICS Network University, enhancing and promoting international academic cooperation.
